Newest Pottery Videos

This is where I will be posting my newest and best pottery videos from my YouTube channel. Watching pottery videos is a great way to learn how to make pottery. In many ways, watching pottery making videos is just as helpful as taking a pottery class or pottery lesson.  Enjoy, and be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel to keep up to date on the latest videos.

Above is a video that I originally intended as a fun speed throwing video, but then I realized that it was a good opportunity to show my favorite rim finishing technique. I didn't edit this one as tightly as most of my videos so you can see a little more of my actual process when throwing pottery in real time.

Above is an amazing and beautiful pottery video that I found on on YouTube recently. This is the best pottery video of a large bowl being thrown that I've seen in awhile. Watch the steadiness of the pottery makers hands. His technique is quite different than mine, but the way he makes this large pottery bowl is quite stunning.

When you are learning pottery for the first time it can be difficult to tell whether your walls are too thin or too thick or really uneven. This is the best way to check the thickness of the walls of your pottery.

You will be hesitant to do it at first, but once you do it a few times and see how much it teaches you about your throwing technique you'll be glad you did.

If you already know how to make a vase but have been struggling to figure out how to make that short round vase taller, narrow and a little more elegant check out this video.

This is a fun technique for making a square-ish plate. This is a fun one for making large serving platters or just smaller unique plates.

Here is a video showing you how to create a spout for a pitcher or creamer.

A quick little pottery tip to show you an efficient way to get your clay out of the bag without making a mess and without hassle.

Just for fun, pottery speed throwing.  Try it yourself and test your skills!
